I’ve just lost the chrome streamer (self tailer) from one of the two Harken 40 2 speed winches on my Bavaria 36 (2003) – actually, I know where it is …..glug!  Picture attached.

Harken no longer seem to supply parts for these older winches, which ran until about 2009.  I have tried all the usual sources (Yachty Bits, BOA on FB, EBay, various chandlers) all to no avail,  Does anyone know if there is a UK supplier or know of a good go-to source for older Bavaria bits ‘n’ pieces?

I have no idea where you would get one.  Only suggestions I could offer are:-

Clipper Marine?

Harken in the USA (to see if they have one kicking around somewhere)?

Thanks Bob, we did find one via Harken USA, but at $450 + postage and taxes that’s not a realistic option. Thankfully, after a few days, Harken UK came back and have found one – still a hefty sum at £170 but a relief nonetheless.

Excellent news.  I guess you won’t be servicing the winches with the boat in the water in future then.
