On our 2007 37 I didn’t like the look of the roller genoa clutch by Rutgerson, so I fitted a cleat to tie it off also. DO IT ! Our clutch exploded in a gale, but fortunately we had it tied off to the cleat. If it had not been tied off the genoa would have rolled out and would probably have been torn to shreds. Regards

I replaced all our Rutgerson clutches when the handles snapped off (clutches were 3 years old). The Rutgerssons were stiff, difficult to use and generally awful.

I replaced them with Spinlock XTS clutches – they’re a bit over-spec’d, and were quite expensive, but EVERY time I use them it’s a pure joy. They’re well made, metal, stylish, ….generally excellent enginnering.

Worth every penny, and fully recommended.
