I am also willing to install a bow thruster on the same boat. Did you found or decided for a solution?

Contacted the seller (Sarah), then visited her to make sure that I got the best replacements….(She works out of a huge shed in her garden just off the south coast – Poole area) really friendly lady.
I think that they look better than the original (flusher fit) and yet cost a third of the price of replacements from Clipper!
It’s been a while, we let our membership lapse unintentionally -too busy sailing!!
We had the bearing changed for a jefa needle Bearing and it has been perfect ever since. These bearings are a little more expensive than the standard bearing but it seemed like a better option. We also changed the top one, even though it wasn’t needed.
I think I had a similar problem. I have 2 deep cycle batteries in parallel to make a services battery. I found that my charger was constantly charging at 4 to 7 amps and one battery was getting warm. I disconnected that battery and the charge current went right down. The failed battery seems to have one cell failed – about 10 volts coming out of the battery – and so the charger was constantly trying to charge it.
I don’t think so because the bolt through the tiller arm (and also the steering gear box output arm) also goes through the ends of the steering drag arm which connects the gearbox to the tiller. I am thinking that the problem might possibly be in the joints at the end of the drag link arm and these are replaceable.
Or I might have to fit a longer bolt so I can positively clamp the bolt to the tiller arm and then an extra nut clamping the drag arm end to the bolt – this might avoid replacing the tiller arm. I will have to see what I can see when I take the boat out the water for annual maintenance.

I have the Scrubbis with the squeegee head and the bristles head. My yacht has not moved for a whilst due to other commitments so i tried this bit of kit i only used the bristle head its done what I wanted done.
Artemis is copper-coated I lift out every 2 years the bottom its just slime and I would say only 6 to 8″ below the waterline has growth this scrubbis took it off no problem

Thanks for your reply. I am pretty sure that I have found the source. I gave the rod kicker a good shake and lots of particles came out at the bottom.
Next step is to dismantle it !
Just called them Bob and they gave me the number of the chap I had been using!
That’s fair I guess, but we are all to blame on that one…… unless we share our trials and tribulations the site can become a little stagnant.
It’s only by sharing a post that we can generate input from others and bring the site to life!
Sorry about these glitches people, we’ve had some technical problems on moving the forum to the new server (different php version which the forum sftware didn’t like). All should now be fixed though.
You’ll always have to login as we have a firewall installed (to stop the hackers), but the easiest solution is to get your browser to remember your login details and it will prefill the boxes for you so you just have to hit the login button.
Lots more work to be done, so please bear with us. The member directory on the website is now up and running and allows you to filter results and search for a specific boat name or location, which is a big step forward from what we used to have.
All suggestions for other facilities are welcome.
