My boat has a flat rubber plate as a fairing piece where the saildrive comes out of the hull. After 6 months this had become detached. I ordered a new piece through the local Volvo dealer (which turned out to be more substantial than the original item), abraided the hull and stuck the new piece back with Stikaflex, putting Stikaflex around and over the edge of the new piece. Result: 1 year later the new piece is still in place.
