Hi there.
I have a Bavaria 38H from new in 1998. Recently I discovered that the ‘seal’ at the top of the steering tube in the lazarette is breaking up.
The approved Whitlock/Lewmar servicing agent (Winch Servicing) looked at the problem and said it wasn’t a standard Bavaria fit according to the manuals.
I have had the boat from new with no modifications.
Can anybody shed light or has anyone seen/fixed this problem.[attachment=0:tqcjcdg8]Whitlock.jpg[/attachment:tqcjcdg8]
Many thanks, Chris Cowpe

Hi There
I had the same problem with a B34 I went through the process of getting the part’s from bavaria via Clipper marine and got ripped off from bavaria also took aroung 6 months.(Not clipper marine who were very helpfull) this is a regular NTK bearing seal Can you see a part number on the seal it will start with NTK then a number!. I doubled up on the seals glued them in with aroldite. Check out the attached website and just fill in your sizes far cheaper and its the same part that bavaria send you. http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/index.php?cPath=19
