At present I have triple banks of Rutgerson rope stoppers on each side, and there is space on the inboard side on each side which I want to use to fit new clutches so that I can control the traveller without having to grope through the spray-hood.

Simple question – how deep do I need to drill for the bolts and what size bolts to use? I understand the there is an aluminium plate below the GRP. I am very wary of drilling in case the drill goes too deep and, on the starboard side, breaks into the roof of the heads. If anyone has done this I’d really like some advice on drilling and bolt-size.
