I was installing an SSB antenna tuner on my 2007 Bav 37 up inside the starboard lazzarette hatch to the transom and noticed that there are no nuts or washers on the backstay plate bolts inside the transom – I don’t know but this doesn’t seem right to me and I’ll fit my own. But I was wondering if other boats are the same.

Our 37 has no nuts inside on the hull also. The backstay brackets are just screwed into plates moulded into the transom. I have put s/s washers and nuts on from the inside, just in case. Also I have used monel wire to secure all the backstay shackles. I’m surprised Bavaria have not at least used a plastic tie. Regards
