When we are sailing we often get a creaking noise every few seconds from somewhere underneath the pedestal, which you can also feel through your feet. It also can be heard in the aft cabin from behind the large removable panel directly underneath the pedestal. Has anyone else go this noise and do you know what it might be? It is not related to turning the wheel, since it happens even when the wheel is held still.

Nothing to do with the prop is it ? miakes quite a bit of noise if it’s still turning if you’re sailing with the engine off.

We had the same problem. On inspection it was found to be a small area of delamination in the aft at the back of the locker starboard side. It was on the bulkhead between the pedestal and the end of the locker prior to going through into the transom.
Hope this helps. We have had this repaired and have had no further problems.
