      Hello all,

I have a 2002 Bavaria 44 and it has leaks. My main leak is at the hull to deck joint seal and through where the stanchions mount. I have read some posts here about removing the perished sealant, cleaning the gap, and resealing. My issue is, the plywood beneath the hull lip is substantially rotted and needs replaced in order to support the lip, joint, and stanchions.

My question is, has anyone replaced the plywood supporting the hull lip? If so, what structural material did you use? If you used fiberglass composite like Coosa as the support structure, did you adhere it in place then use fiberglass cloth over it? Or, just went with thickened epoxy for the adhesion?

      Thank you in advance.

      Tom
