<p style=”text-align: center;”>Our Bavaria32 seems to have a battery switch which is either off or on; there is no option to use the leisure batteries to start the engine if there is a problem with the starter battery. Is this right? If so, is there an easy way to allow us to do this?</p>
Also, can anyone recommend DIY davits  for such a boat?

Hi Barolo – the simplest way to have the option to start the engine from the house batteries is to keep a set of good quality ‘jump leads’ ready in the battery compartment.

Our engine (cranking battery) recently failed and I quickly started the engine using the jump leads.

Another (but more expensive option) would be to purchase a 12V portable battery pack).

        I hope that helps.

Thank you Richard – very helpful. I shall take the jump leads out of the car straight away!
