Hi Paul,
Up until a couple of months ago I had a 2000 Bavaria 31. My jackstays were attached to the fore and aft mooring cleats using a shackle at each end. really simple and effective, no drilling.
My 2001 Bavaria 40 doesn’t have any (yet).
