Hi All
I have a Raymarine E80 chartplotter where the icon for the boat isn’t pointing the same way as the boat itself. The error is over 45 degrees. Going through the ‘compass setup’ menus I find that the ‘linearize compass’ option is greyed out (as if it is not intended for the user to access the sub-menus), so I’m unable to start the process to swing the compass.
Has anybody else come across this? Any advice welcome.

Suggest you phone Raymarine – i’ve found them very helpful in the past.

We had the same problem and found that there was something metal / magnetic too near the fluxgate compass. Check the electronic compass reading if you have an autopilot and if it is 45 degrees out to the main compass you have found the problem!

Very many thanks to both Vela and Lazypelican for the advice
I shall investigate with Raymarine and perhaps also I should move the set of safety harnesses that I have stored in the same locker as the fluxgate compass…… 😆
