      Hello,

Does anyone have any tips or advice on draining the QL calorifier prior to trying to remove the element and then replacing it on our 2003 B36? I think there is a drain pipe at the front of the engine bay with a cap on the end.

      Thanks,

      Andy

I replaced the end cap with an in line valve (B & Q standard push fit) much easier to control flow when draining.

We drain down every winter and I often forget to open the mixer tap in the hot position so when I remove the plug off the drain at the front of the engine bay i get a full tank of hot water into the engine bay. Make sure you drain down both hot and cold and leave the mixer tap open in the hot position to achieve a complete draindown.
