Having attended my first BOA meeting four weeks ago I am now £1600 worse off having been persuaded (It wasn’t hard) of the need to replace my 150% genoa. The realisation that my hardly used sails are less than perfect has made me pay more attention to them and last time I was out I had the distinct impression that my main sail was about 2-3 inches taller than my mast. I am quite sure it was wound up the mast as far as it would go.

Is this a common problem with delivery sails?

Hi, I recently bought a new Maxi Roach Mainsail which on delivery was a few inches too long. It was very quickly resolved by returning the sail to the manufacturer. They made a simple adjustment to the top of the sail while I waited (20 mins) and now it can be tensioned correctly.
