Does anyone have or know of an older Bavaria 30? Ours has an obvious forward mast rake, which seems to be due to a forward slope on the cabin top at the base of the mast. Are they all like this and should we do something to wedge up the mast base? She does not go well to windward !! Thanks!

I can’t answer your specific enquiry but can you not adjust the mast rake using the forestay and backstay (assuming there is some adjustment in both)?

Does the mast base not pivot a few degress, which is probably all that’s needed?

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the base of the mast is as far tilted back as possible and there is no more adjustment. Any further would make it unstable. Seems strange to me that it must have always been like this, and I wondered what other ones were like!
