Whilst out at my boat in Almerimar last week i checked the oil in the engine, then checked the reverse gear oil, to my surprise the oil in the reverse gear had turned slightly yellow. I know this can easily be changed but can anybody advise what may have caused this….Ed Holmes Storm Dragon

Almost certainly due to water contamination. Has the oil gone cloudy?

Hi Ian, thanks for that, oil does not appear to have gone cloudy, but as boat being lifted out mid May for antifoul etc shall drain the oil from the saildrive and replace it. I know there has been lots of discusion about which oil to use, but my manual says use enging oil, so will stick to the same. thanks
