Anybody like myself who has an older Bavaria, will at some time need replacement rudder bearings, and if like me were taken aback by the time scale to obtain replacements from Bavaria, and the cost of the replacements, will be gratified to know that there is a company not 20 miles away that offer a speedy service at reasonable cost, and the company is SIMMS MARINE near Botley. I had the top and bottom bearings made and fitted, also a new alloy sleeve fitted to the rudder stock{the previous owner had a stainless steel sleeve fitted which caused corrosion} plus sandblasting and epoxy repair, and the rudder refitted, all for the sum of £400….Ed Holmes Storm dragon
