On my 1998 vintage Bavaria Holiday 35, the cables that steer the boat have started to squeak, and I think the problem lies where the cables run through 2 blocks that in turn alter the direction of the said cables. Unfortunately these blocks are nearly impossible to access and the only way I can think of lubricating them is to spray WD40 onto the vertical cables, in the hope that the excess oil will run down the cables and lubricate the blocks. The squeaking only seams to occur when the yacht is moving, so can anybody offer advice on how to cure the squeaking

      Hi,
Sorry no one replied to your question, thing did get a bit slow with this site for a while.
What I would say is, do not use WD40 for lubrication,
Try something that has some PTFE in it.

      Bill
