I have recently sailed in a new Bav 45 which has a double main sheet system and no traveller. I was very impressed since one can position the boom anywhere across the boat and when going downwind, there is no need to use a preventer to stop accidental gybes. I was wondering about fitting a similar system to my Bav 42 which has the normal coachroof traveller. Has anyone experience of changing to this arrangement or any views?
