Just finished servicing one of our 48st winches. I found it more convenient to clean all the parts at home, in the garage for example. I use an old toothbrush, white spirit and a suitable ‘bath’ (half of a 5 litre water bottle works well). I did photograph every stage of the dismantling (it was my first service with this winch model) and this was invaluable when re-assembling several days later. If you get stuck, there is always the other winch to use as a guide!.
